The British Primary section of Al Noor International School celebrated their 17th Annual Day in the spacious multi-purpose hall at the school on Thursday evening, 29 April. This was an opportunity for the parents to admire their children’s musical and dramatic talents and to applaud the top academic performers in each standard. Excellence awards were handed to Hussain Ali Ismail of Grade 1, Moamen Hafedh of Grade 2, Akbar Aziz of Grade 3 and Syeda Fatima of Grade 4. About forty students received prizes for their achievements in the annual Talent Competition.
This auspicious occasion was attended by the School Chairman Mr. Ali Hassan, the Principal Mr. Hassan Al-Mehri, the Director Mr. Mohammed Mashood, the Head Teachers of the various sections, Co-ordinators and teachers. The hall was filled to capacity with enthusiastic parents who came to support the two hundred and fifty participants in the show.
The children wore dazzling costumes designed specially for the occasion and the hall was beautifully decorated. This year’s theme depicted the importance of conserving the environment and the programme included songs such as, “We are the World, The more we get together, Conquest of Paradise and Heal the world.” One of the highlights of the evening was the Primary school band. The children, who played a variety of musical instruments, were from the USA, Russia, Pakistan, Egypt, India and Bahrain. This once again showed how children from different cultures can blend into a unit when they receive their education at what is generally perceived as one of the top educational facilities in Bahrain.
