AL NOOR STUDENT BEST IN THE WORLD
Al Noor International School students, staff and parents, in fact everybody associated with the school, are proud of the exceptional achievement of one of the school’s students. This feeling of elation is based on the fact that Dalya Mohamed Mahmood Abdul Fattah, Bahraini National, an IGCSE student in the British Senior Section of the school, attained the highest mark in the world for Cambridge IGCSE First Language Arabic in the June 2010 Cambridge examinations.
Students from one hundred and twenty-seven countries participated in these examinations. To achieve the highest mark in the world in a subject is therefore an exceptional achievement.
The Regional Manager of the University of Cambridge, Mr. William Bickerdike, said that he was very proud to congratulate Dalya Mohamed Mahmood Abdul Fattah on her outstanding results. He attributed it to her hardwork and dedication, and also the dedication of her teachers. To quote Mr. Bickerdike, “A great deal of support from Dalya Mohamed Mahmood Abdul Fattah’s school and family has helped her to achieve success.” He added that this outstanding result will receive world-wide recognition as proof of academic excellence from employers and institutes for further education. In his own words, “Dalya Mohamed Mahmood Abdul Fattah has a bright future ahead of her and I wish her well.”
Dalya Mohamed Mahmood Abdul Fattah was honoured during a ceremony at her school when Mr. Ali Hassan, the Chairman of Al Noor International School personally handed her the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award Certificate issued by the University of Cambridge International Examinations. Mr. Ali Hassan, the Chairman of the school heartily congratulated her and expressed his delight at this marvelous accomplishment. He added that he hoped that the example set by Dalya Mohamed Mahmood Abdul Fattah will be emulated by other students at the school. Also present on this occasion was the school Principal, Mr. Hassan Al Mehri, the school Director, Mr. Muhammad Mashood, the Head Teachers of the various sections, the student’s parents and other school officials.
